Algeria-based HRTech startup Talenteo has raised a six-figure investment in a strategic funding round led by Tunisia-based venture capital firm 216 Capital Ventures. The funding will support Talenteo’s expansion into Tunisia and broader Francophone African markets, as well as accelerate the development of its AI-powered human resources platform.
Founded in 2022 by Tarik Metnani and Louai Djaffer, Talenteo offers a comprehensive SaaS solution tailored to the HR and payroll management needs of African SMEs and mid-sized enterprises (ETIs). The platform integrates AI, local legal frameworks, and automation to streamline employee administration, time and payroll tracking, talent development, and regulatory compliance.
With over 150 clients and more than 10,000 active users, Talenteo is already making waves in the African HR tech space. The company aims to help businesses reduce time spent on repetitive tasks while enhancing strategic decision-making in complex regulatory environments.
“We believe company success stems from investing in people,” said Louai Djaffer, CEO of Talenteo. “Talenteo was built to help African businesses digitalise their HR processes in support of growth and impact.”
The latest funding round will enable Talenteo to:
-
Establish a local presence in Tunisia, a strategic entry point for regional growth
-
Enhance its AI-driven platform features
-
Scale operations across Francophone Africa, tapping into a market where HR digitalisation is still in early stages
By 2030, Africa is projected to become the world’s largest labor force, with over 1 billion working-age individuals. SMEs and mid-sized companies are expected to generate over 80% of employment opportunities, underscoring the critical need for efficient HR and payroll systems.
“Talenteo is the kind of innovation we aim to support — locally rooted, scalable, and built to meet the operational realities of African enterprises,” said Dhekra Khelifi, Partner at 216 Capital Ventures.
This investment marks a significant milestone in Talenteo’s mission to become a leading digital HR partner for African businesses navigating growth and compliance challenges in a fast-evolving economic landscape.
