Cairo, Egypt – Ahmed Nader, CEO of Geidea Egypt, has announced ambitious expansion plans for the company, targeting over 150,000 merchants across Egypt by next year, a significant increase from its current base of 70,000. Speaking to Al Borsa newspaper, Nader outlined Geidea’s strategic vision for becoming the leading player in the country’s electronic payments sector.
“We have a clear strategy in the Egyptian market, with a goal to make Geidea the largest player in payment acceptance,” Nader said. “We aim to become the first choice for customers and merchants operating in Egypt by offering a comprehensive package of innovative and integrated electronic services, beyond just restaurant management and cashier system solutions.”
Focus on Integrated Solutions for Sustainable Growth
Nader emphasized that Geidea’s approach is centered on providing integrated solutions that help partners and customers grow their businesses sustainably. “We see ourselves as a strategic partner, offering electronic payment acceptance solutions that support the growth and longevity of businesses through payment technology and beyond,” he added.
The company’s investments in Egypt since its entry into the market have reached approximately EGP 2 billion. Geidea plans to scale up its operations by sevenfold in the near future, aiming to further penetrate the Egyptian market with cutting-edge fintech solutions. Nader expressed confidence in the potential of the Egyptian market, describing it as “promising and full of opportunities.”
New Soft POS Solutions on the Horizon
As part of its expansion efforts, Geidea is preparing to launch a new service—Soft POS solutions—in partnership with an Egyptian bank. This will complement the company’s existing portfolio, which includes point-of-sale (POS) terminals for accepting payments through bank cards, e-wallets, installment plans, e-commerce gateways, and other payment solutions. Geidea is also the exclusive distributor of the latest POS technologies in Egypt, further cementing its leadership in the electronic payments space.
Nader highlighted the company’s ongoing collaboration with the Central Bank of Egypt and local banks to streamline the import of POS devices, which are crucial to expanding Geidea’s services and growing its market share.
Targeting Egypt’s Booming Restaurant Industry
Nader also pointed to the rapid growth of Egypt’s restaurant sector as a key area of focus. With more than 60,000 restaurants operating in the country and the industry projected to grow by 20-25% annually, Geidea aims to become the exclusive digital partner for many establishments. “We are focusing on providing innovative solutions that meet the needs of this fast-growing sector and offer customers a unique experience,” he said.
By delivering an integrated, advanced platform for restaurants, Geidea hopes to enhance their business operations and ensure their sustainability in a competitive market.
Geidea’s plans to diversify its service offerings, strengthen its partnerships, and expand its merchant base signal a strong commitment to becoming a dominant force in Egypt’s fintech landscape. The company’s strategic moves will likely shape the future of electronic payments and digital solutions in the country.
