Efreshli, Egyptian Interior Design Startup, Secures Seed Funding to Expand and Enhance Offerings

Cairo, Egypt – Egyptian online interior design startup Efreshli has raised a seed funding round to bolster its product lineup and further enhance its technology-driven platform for home furnishing. Founded by Heba Elgabaly, Efreshli aims to simplify the process of home decoration by providing a seamless, fully digital journey. The platform currently features thousands of products from over 150 top Egyptian brands, offering customers an accessible and convenient shopping experience.

The recent funding, led by Algebra Ventures with participation from 500 Startups, Dar Ventures, and a group of angel investors, comes as Efreshli prepares to enhance its offerings and accelerate its growth. While the specific amount raised has not been disclosed, the capital injection is expected to support Efreshli’s ambition to expand its product range and tech-driven services across Egypt and the MENA region.

In tandem with the new funding, Efreshli has appointed Dina Elhaddad as co-founder and Chief Product Officer (CPO). Elhaddad brings a wealth of experience in consumer technology, having spent the last 15 years in the field, including eight years at Google, where she contributed to products like Google Assistant and Google Shopping. Her expertise is set to drive Efreshli’s product innovation, including the development of new features like Efreshli Pro, which aims to integrate customers, designers, and vendors in a streamlined, collaborative ecosystem.

“I’m excited about this significant milestone for Efreshli,” said Elgabaly. “With the new funding and Dina joining as co-founder and CPO, we can accelerate our tech-driven growth and take Efreshli to new heights. This brings us closer to our mission of making interior design accessible for everyone.”

Elhaddad expressed her enthusiasm for the venture, highlighting Efreshli’s broader vision. “Efreshli’s future is more than just furniture; it’s about building an entire ecosystem. With innovations like Efreshli Pro, we’re connecting the dots for everyone, from customers to designers, and making the process seamless,” she said.

Laila Hassan, General Partner at Algebra Ventures, praised Efreshli’s customer-centric approach, noting Egypt’s unique position as the region’s largest exporter of furniture. “Furniture is an important national industry. Egypt has always benefited from secular trends like near-shoring and an attractive labor market,” she said. “Efreshli is well-positioned to leverage the best of Egyptian design to serve customers across MENA. We see substantial room for innovation in this space and are thrilled to partner with Heba and Dina.”

Elgabaly’s experience in the industry includes her role in building Eklego, a leading Egyptian furniture brand, into a prominent player. With Elhaddad’s leadership in product development and Efreshli’s investor backing, the startup is well-poised to disrupt the region’s interior design industry and bring accessible, designer-first solutions to customers across the MENA region.
