Egypt-based Agri-Tech Startup ReNile Secures $450,000 Funding, Eyes Regional Expansion

Cairo, EgyptReNile, an Egypt-based agri-tech startup, has successfully closed a funding round of $450,000 from undisclosed investors. Founded in 2017, the company specializes in end-to-end smart farming solutions, leveraging technology to enhance agricultural productivity and sustainability.

The funding will support ReNile’s ambitious expansion plans, including establishing a subsidiary in Saudi Arabia to manufacture its innovative systems. Additionally, the company has announced a strategic partnership in Kuwait, signaling its intent to strengthen its footprint across the MENA region.

Speaking about the company’s growth trajectory, ReNile’s CEO revealed plans to secure contracts worth EGP 40 million in the first quarter of 2025. The startup envisions becoming a billion-dollar enterprise within the next five years.

ReNile gained significant visibility after being featured on the popular investment show Shark Tank. Prior to the appearance, the startup had secured a funding commitment of $150,000, which surged to $450,000 following the show—highlighting the impact of the program in attracting investor interest.

Since its inception, ReNile has been at the forefront of advancing smart farming solutions, addressing critical challenges in agriculture through innovation. The recent funding and expansion plans are expected to further bolster its mission of transforming the agricultural sector in Egypt and beyond.
